A yellow Corvette and a Ford GT the color of Ol’ Glory will be battling it out for the top step of the production car podium. The question is, with all this America happening, will Fox finally see fit to allow us to actually watch it all go down? I’m not sure I’d bet on it...

Dat prototype aero. Almost feel sorry for the poor little Beetles that comb will be slicing up.

Two questions: 1. That is not a Ford Edge. 2. Is the diffuser really going to diffuse that far back?

Two problems with having full coverage of the whole race on Fox.
1) Very few people watch the entire 24 hours, usually just watching the first few and last few hours.
2) It’s a really bad idea to dedicate an entire 24 hours on your network to a type of event which isn’t actually that well known in the grand scheme of things.

There was one Viper racing in this year too but I think it retired after gearbox problems. They didn’t catch much TV time as I spotted them only twice before they finally retired. I wished they would try more seriously in the next year.

It should, the diffuser just manages airflow under the car, so it’s effectively just a longer floor.

Most definitely. Having it extend all the way under the wing make sense also (better balance of aerodynamic forces as well as making them greater).
